Vegeterian party for English friends

2 weeks ago we had our friendly neighbours over for a meal. They are a lovely experienced English couple who are teachers by profession. They are vegeterian by choice and have tried north indian vegeterian food in the past. They love the indian paper dosas, sambhar and chutneys.

I was in a delimma as to how I would serve them an enjoyable vegeterian meal. I decided to introduce them to some of the simple delights of south indian cuisine. After much thought I decided on Mangalorean neer dosas/panpole, sprouted mung and bambooshoot, hyderabadi spicy tomato chutney and aubergine chutney, kerala style mutter paneer cooked with coconut milk, and kannadiga style capsicum raitha. It was an ambitious menu but I hoped to tickle their senses :)

Menu for K and N:

I spent a whole day preparing the meal. All the hard work paid off as K and N had never tried these dishes before and really enjoyed every bit of it .
